Do cat foods differ in quality? 
Read the labels! 

Many other brands use "chicken by-product" protein. "Chicken by-product" protein can come from chicken feet or heads. It's lower quality protein and harder for your cat to digest.

Don't be fooled by brands using "fresh" chicken or turkey as ingredients. Fresh poultry can be up to 76% water...read their label completely. You may see that they also use poultry by-products as another source of meat protein!

In human food and in cat food, the biggest name isn't always best.

When you want the best baked goods or freshest produce, you go to a neighborhood baker or farm stand. Supermarkets and superstores carry super big brands, but not necessarily the best foods for you or your special feline friend.

The fat in cat food is critical for energy and the proper development of skin and coat. Precept uses clarified, pure poultry fat in all its formulas. Poultry fat is the most efficient fat available and is rich in linoleic and arachidonic acids.

Precept uses only natural antioxidant vitamins C and E as preservatives. Fats must be preserved to prevent rancidity. But preservatives don't have to be bad things. Our natural antioxidant vitamin preservatives are good for your cat! There have never been any artificial chemical preservatives in any Precept formula--no Ethoxyquin, no BHA, no BHT--never.

PRECEPT adds the extras! 

We put Lecithin in every Precept formula. Lecithin contains essential fatty acids that, together with our pure poultry fat, give your cat a glossy, shiny, healthy-looking coat.

We add supplementary Ester-C® vitamin C to all Precept feline formulas. Ester-C vitamin C is twice as potent as regular vitamin C and helps to strengthen your cat's immune system. 

Every Precept feline formula is supplemented with Yucca Schidigera Extract. This natural ingredient from desert plants reduces the ammonia odor in urine and feces. You will find that dealing with a litter box is a lot nicer when you feed Precept.

Taurine is an essential amino acid that all cats must have for good vision and a healthy heart. The chicken meat in all our formulas is rich in Taurine. We also supplement with additional Taurine to leave nothing to chance.

Lastly, the macro minerals of Zinc, Iron, Manganese, Cobalt, and Copper which are vital for proper nutritional health are hard for your cat to absorb. So, in Precept, these minerals are present as amino acid chelates. Precept chelated minerals are more easily absorbed into the cat's bloodstream than ordinary minerals.
