Precept Debuts New Look Precise Pet Products, the Nacogdoches, Texas, manufacturer of premium pet foods who is currently celebrating their 10th anniversary, has revamped the packaging for their entire dry line of Precept pet foods. “Over the past decade, we’ve continually added more formulations to the Precept product line in order to meet the needs of pet owners who are more informed and more discriminating than ever,” said Mike Guerber, vice president. “Our new packaging acknowledges that by clearly communicating each product’s features and benefits.” The Precept premium formulas remain unchanged, but the packaging for each one has received a major facelift that includes updated graphics and a more user-friendly, tell-all presentation. The front of the bag quickly informs consumers what nutritional need the formula is designed to meet, plus a summary of the product’s key attributes. The back panel now boasts an expanded narrative explaining the product in greater detail. |

Texas Farm Products Company Receives AIB Rating Texas Farm Products Company recently received a satisfactory rating for its pet food manufacturing plant from the American Institute of Baking (AIB), a recognized monitor of human food manufacturers. “Texas Farm Products Company is one of a select number of pet food manufacturers to voluntarily have its facilities scrutinized by the AIB and its standards for human food grade production,” said Dennis Donovan, director of operations at Texas Farm Products Company. “Undergoing AIB inspections proves our commitment to ensure the quality of the pet foods we manufacture.” In its inspections, AIB evaluates food safety risks and compliance to the criteria in AIB standards in the following areas: adequacy of food safety program, pest control, operational methods and personnel practices, maintenance for food safety, and cleaning practices. The criteria is established by combining good management principles including the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act; Good Manufacturing Practices; and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act. A rating method is used to assign a numerical score and classification to the manufacturer. Texas Farm Products Company conducts self-inspections of its facilities on a daily basis. The company created the position of AIB coordinator to manage its AIB program, a visible demonstration of Texas Farm Product Company’s commitment to producing quality products. |
